With Father's Day coming up, my oldest son, Harvey, has been talking non-stop about my fiance becoming his step-father. This poem just sort of flowed from that.

Fathers come into your life
In so many different ways
Some by blood
And a select few
By their own choice
Those are the most special
They’re in your life
Because of love
Love for the child
Love for the mother

A family created
Out of love...

Harvey seems just as excited as Vince and I about the upcoming wedding, my youngest, Zaine, isn't old enough to understand the concept just yet, but Vince has effected him in so many ways.

A very heart-warming poem on an original subject. Yes, step-parents and recomposed families are very much a part of our world.
This is something of value to approach in poetry. Thank you.
