I broke my knees, Putting you there, A pedestal, For all to stare, You felt so sorry, You gave me a gift, I felt so lonely, I accepted, The clouds, They are so damn beautiful, So I wove me some wings, My chest - confidence - so full, And, Who knew they'd be unevenly laced, And, I fell haphazardly to the ground, What a bitter-sweet taste. Once you taste the clouds, You can never be full, On the fogs of life, Once you felt the warmth of the sun, You can never trust the moon, The drinks of life, “Most men lead lives of quiet desperation and go to the grave with the song still in them.” -Henry David Thoreau |
