In the darkest hour Of the longest night Let fly the arrows of truth Send them as Black Rain upon the birthplace of fear And when battle is done and the Demon slain; Rise. When beaten by fate With the callused hand of time Follow the path of dreams to Jacobs Ladder And with whatever strength that’s left unto you; Rise. When life has been abandoned And breath has left The Sword of your Soul Lay it then down, quiet your weary heart and Await the Dawn in the Valley of Heaven For as the Moon doth shine, you will be as the Sun and; Rise. Remember well that this destiny is ours Heaven and Hell in equal measure and portion The path that’s taken whether by conscious desire or chance Is but the means to the end, for only after we fall from Grace And find ourselves amid the serenity that is our prides desolation Can we then; Rise |

The last word of each stanza offers hope in times of despair. Rise! |
