There was a raven, dark and sleek His voice, the sound of tapping beak So ominous the rhythmic pain That pulsed like drums through heart and vein A raven’s peck aroused the spine And darkest corners of the mind His tapping in a midnight haze Was like a shrouded mystic phrase The rhythm of a raven’s beak Broke up the silence of my sleep And sent my mind into a spin As leaves succumb to gusty wind Were they to render thoughts in words What brilliant quotes would come from birds |

Well...I have to tell you that word is out around my bedroom window to stay the heck away! We have crows, and they drive me NUTS! Heck, you can even make a Raven sound wonderful you know that? |

Quite exceptional, dear Elizabeth. We have ravens too here and no doubt they make their presence known! Love, Margherita |

I think that Poe would find this a worthy companion piece. I know I did. "We'll chase them like rats across the tundra." |
