Blade Dance Perhaps the heaviness of winter bends the backs of native rye Preferring to be gold in autumn, strength training in preparation But then, the cold heart of winter melts, in a flood of emotion The sprout of fenugreek and clover make a carpet lush and green Barefoot advice to the weary tread of a long season’s journey Perhaps these days I am more the wind than the spring sunshine More the throaty whisper of seduction than the frilly skirt of innocence Perhaps, I am more summer than I have told the sky in quite a while If that is true, then follow with your eyes, the twirl of my blade dance For spring brings the music that moves me in tune with the grass Copyright Kkh 5/21/10 |

This is a wonderful poem that I really enjoyed reading. I find your comparing yourself to spring sunshine and summer original and evocative. I also like your conversation with the sky. Bravo! |

I enjoyed the imagery of springtime winds making the fields of rye stalks dance. That, and the bending of backs reference, gives the poem a bit of "Russian" feel. |
