You must think
I’m a crocodile
And these tears
Don’t taste of salt

You must think
My words are idle
Hold no fears
Or substance
Just small
Small talk
That cannot
Reach your
Inner ear

You must think
Me a fool
To folly after you
And your
Self serving
Silence

Oh well uh you might think I’m delirious
The way I run you down
But somewhere sometimes
When you’re curious
I’ll be back around
Oh I think that you’re wild
And so-o uniquely styled,

I'll just let the CARS speak their lyrics for reply!  nice work, EBM!

Well, EBM: you're so honest telling us your feelings that I think you are adorable.
But maybe that's because I see you through the lens of my heart.

Yo dear EBM,

I must admit, I don't understand this at all.
Of course I'm just an ignorant city boy.

Here's hoping you're doing good.

Love Bobby

Oh, wonderful. Concise but it says so much. I love the "crocodile tears." Also, good use of slant rhyme ("salt" and "talk".)

DadyG-you are too kind. Thank you for being so accepting of my work and acknowledging my truth. ebm
------------
Bobby darlin' you're far from ignorant because you're a city boy. As for myself, I'm hangin' in. ebm

do crocodile tears not taste of salt?
:-)  haven't run into too many of them where I've been and don't really know..

strong wording ma'am... obvious the silence here is not golden..

No, it is the kind of silence intended to make you feel both conspicuous and invisible.

I know something of that silence... and my comment wasn't intended to make light of it in any way...

Silence creeps in easily some times... and others it is a sudden wall you run into, but the end result is usually alienation and hurt on both sides of conversations never had...
