The Smile of Wisdom

I love him just because he is
In the moments we are together
My thoughts cease as I admire him
I can see eternity in his eyes

He lives to exist now
and exists to teach me
To live this moment fully

When he gets sick,
He cries passionately
When he is healthy,
He laughs heartily

He carries no baggage from the past
Or fear of what the future may hold

I love him deeply today
There is no need for a memory
He's engrained in my heart

For one day, He will be gone
And my tears may be many

But today all is OK
I can hold him near
and in the sincerity of his smile...

...he touches my soul...

... with his wisdom.

Beautiful poem. Very touching. I particularly like the last two lines.
