the old avenue seems much different now
with the uptight fences and unfriendly wire
and barking dogs that talk about everything

like kids telling their teachers secrets
even the made up ones from dreams
so I just let the windows show me around

they are dangerous too, the windows
with temptation just on the other side
but are usually a little safer than the doors

hungry is not quite as bad if you are still warm

Great ending, DS. Sometimes we hunger for more, taking the bare necessessities for granted, when in fact that is what sustains us.

I'm always looking for a message in your poetry, ...even when I don't get it!

But always worth the looksee~

and oft'times make-it-do sandwiches
are all that's served.
