Standing at the threshold of memory... Hesitant to put pen to paper for fear of what may emerge. Cautiously placing a toe in the surface of the past, thoughts of people and places not seen in years loom and threaten to drag me under once again. Not sure I remember HOW to let my thoughts escape through my pen. How do I heal and remember how to live, truly enjoy and revel in lifes hidden passageways? I watch my son discover the world and wish I could have the same innocence free from scarred wounds of the heart. But I know that's not a feasible wish so I enjoy the discovery and wonder in his smile when he uncovers the simple joy in Peek-a-boo. |

Nareena, Welcome to PiP. Thank you for taking the time to already duck in and respond to one of my poems. Your poem touches me. I, too, wish I could have the innocence of a child without the scars that I received as a child. Anyway, welcome and I really like the poem that you offered to us. Thank you. Alison |

Yes, I agree, it's a shame we have to lose all of our innocence. This is very tastefully done and a pleasure to read. Welcome to PIP you'll enjoy it here. Eric in a relationship the me becomes we. |

Hello Nareena, I love the images of the toe, I love the atmosphere of the poem with the innocence versus the knowledge...It is a real fight that bend people sometimes...Thanks for the superb poem. yann |

Your courage and altruistic joy is a delight to witness. You light the way for those who are faltering, to follow. Lovely poem. Owl |

Nareena! I was wondering when or if you were going to post something, and wow, what a wonderful poem you shared with us! Its just like riding a bike isn't it, its pretty hard to forget how to do it, you just have to put your fingers on the pen, and start peddling... I like your voice, and I'm really looking forward to hearing more of it in the future okay, so you better keep writing or else haha. Thanks for sharing this slice of your life with us, you've made many friends here already and I think I speak for all who have met you that we're glad you're here with us... ![]() Take great care of you!
