When I Was Humphrey Bogart

Those were the days my friends
when I wore dandy suits
and dapper hats,
when the women would get
crazy over me
and I was insane about that.
Never had to do that much,
just a few well chosen words
was all it took
and then I'd finish them off with
a "wanting to know you better" look,
after that they wanted me
and they wanted me bad,
and I liked them all
and didn't want any of them
to be lonely or sad,
so I'd act unavailable
until they'd break,
and later that evening they'd be
spending the night at my place.
I know there were storys
that I preferred this dish
or that doll,
so let me settle those storys
once and for all,
my favorite dame
was Lauren Bacall.
