Explain Why do you write? Who are you writing to? Me, myself, someone who listens…feels, breathes me. Isn’t it enough just to be? What, quiet? I am quiet. Should someone Decide to make sense then let me let them. But why? Why not? The feelings are here, now, sincere, Somehow complete in their meanderings… It is all me. I don’t understand. You never will. But that’s all right. Someone might. ~*~ And over the years, she wrote, and wrote more, And then when someone Spent a day in a museum of poetic archives, then another day and more, and so enjoyed And explored and more, She watched, but did not say to anyone in Particular, ~*~ Look, see? They saw, enjoyed, something old, but new To them. And she did not tell him in particular, I told you so. ~*~ © KRJ 9 Feb 2011 |

Hah! But she could have told him that, and maybe she did a bit later. When I first began to write, I had visions of being rich and famous, hitting the talk circuit, hugging Oprah's neck, cracking jokes with the nighttime talk show hosts. Ah, didn't quite work out. Funny thing though, I have never been discouraged. I have written eleven (soon to be twelve) novels and my memoirs, never mind all the poems and short stories. Could some of them use an experts edit? Sure. Still, I have written them and see no sign of stopping writing. All I am saying is that I relate to this woman in your poem, Sunshine. ~ Some people are like a Slinky -- not really good for anything -- but you still can't help but smile when you shove them down the stairs. ~ |

Sissie...A real good feeling comes from knowing someone went back to years ago, and appreciated enough to let you know they liked what you wrote. |

Karen, Anais Nin said this once. "We write to taste life twice, once in the moment and in retrospection." I think that is why I have always kept journals. At least one person got to know who I was. LOL jo |

"You never will. But that’s all right. Someone might." I love these lines (and therein lies the hope.) |
