I feel the tug of war between me with my words and other’s expectations. Time spent called obsession and folly for no book in sight Wasting my time if money isn’t the validation I seek LGR©2/4/11 |

If you are trying to publish a book and they are wanting much money to do it, there are other ways. You are absolutely not wasting your time, Lori, money or no money. You give to the world your thoughts, desires. It is not wasted. ~ What's The Difference Between Roast Beef And Pea Soup? / Anyone Can Roast Beef. ~ |

Lori, you definitely are not wasting your time...time spent with words is an investment in your legacy...plus, Jerry is right (about the publishing...as we used to say, "Write on!") |

I wrote for myself (in the closet so to speak) until I was 50. Now that I have found a place to share my writing, I'm quite content. It is the others that don't see the value in what you are doing if you don't sell it that I have an issue with Thanks for the kind words Steaven. Lori |

I understand what you are saying here, Lori. I write just because I love writing. It is a way of expessing myself. Better and cheaper than a shrink. Ida |

Agreeing with all of you. Who is "They" and why should "they" have anything to say? I have kept journals since childhood. Lots and lots of words spend there, but as Ida said, better than seeking advise and help elsewhere. It is amazing how wonderful it is to be able to connect with the past so easily. Many books there, not for publication and money, but for my own purposes. You keep on writing. latearrival |

Thanks Ida and latearrival I hear you loud and clear. I think "they" see my writing as competition for attention. Lori |

"I think "they" see my writing as competition for attention,: Ah, so that's it . . . A black cat ran in front of me tonight. I'm not worried. They don't bother Warlocks. |

I must agree with one and all above. Money, the poorest reason to write. Peace. |
