Scholarly thoughts float right on by, Old age caresses with a sigh, I've fought my fights, some I have won, In the shadows or in the sun. I'm hanging tough, just one more fight, I understand sorrow of night, Regret sneaks in from time to time, But I've forgiven me my crimes. When you live long enough you see, Things fall into place, lock and key, Age is nothing without wisdom, Otherwise you are just a bum. Memories folded within you, A hodgepodge panorama stew, Kaleidoscope image of life, Some wonderful scenes and some strife. I do not think what could have been, I can take my past on the chin, Neither boo's nor rounds of applause, I know of no life without flaws. I understand now what I've done, Makes my life a sad one or fun, It's who I am, scholar or clown, Wearing a dunce cap or a crown. I am content to be alone, Set in my ways, don't need a Joan, I talk to my mutt, she talks back, Two peas in a pod in our shack. Don't get me wrong, I'd love it if, The sweet smell of perfume I'd sniff, Someone I could really talk to, She'd talk back and friendship accrue. No complaints, me being alone, Never close the lid on the throne, I have a neighbor named Roger, He and I both like the Dodgers. It's an easy-as-you-go way, Still, I feel like some kind of stray, I have total control of me, No complications sans a she. So, here I am, walking that walk, With one eye on that damned old clock, I'm old I keep telling myself, But I still have something to give. |

I don't know, M. Hiding who we are at certain times of our life isn't a good thing either. I have come to grips with aging and death. Well, to a point I have. Truth is I have no problem with death, except I don't intend to linger if I have anything to say about it. It is the degeneration of the flesh that bothers me. But it is what it is and I will not hide it from myself. Haha! Yeah, you got it, Lori, be regress the older we get, and that is the scary part of it all. I really don't care to leave this world wearing diapers. ~ What's The Difference Between Roast Beef And Pea Soup? / Anyone Can Roast Beef. ~ |

I don't know anybody who does, I guess it just depends (ha ha) When you've had enough just step in front of a bus...They'll just blame it on being old. Lori |

"When you've had enough just step in front of a bus...They'll just blame it on being old." Right, like we'll care what they think. Haha!! ~ What's The Difference Between Roast Beef And Pea Soup? / Anyone Can Roast Beef. ~ |
