The levels of suffering and of the poems we pen to give credence to them are interchangeable I'm thinking. Ah, the dove (peace), the heart (love) and the bloom (giving), the trinity of life which is difficult for mortals to maintain. Good work on this poem. ~ Good health is merely the slowest possible rate at which one can die. ~ |

This is exquisite, Spiros. I too like how Jerry laid out the metaphors of dove, the heart and the bloom. However, besides being something for mortals to maintain, I see them also as the “incarnate benediction” - the gifts of God to mortals to comfort them in their suffering. I see the rapture of your title as referring to the benediction, but also to the rapture of the suffering, as strange as that may sound. I particularly love the concept of poetry "saluting" (and thus encapsulating) the benediction. This poem is excellent in every way, particularly how it all circles in around itself and an absolute keeper. Owl |
