you said the drinking fountain was broken
so we could do a pillow fights instead
and you had one hidden to catch me looking
then you laughed a river full of funny
at my expression when my back was turned

you went for rides with the boys and I there
did things sometimes that only I noticed
then you would pretend you didn't notice
until later at the picnic table take out
with your shoes off but toes on, touching

you said some things like kissing were natural
you just liked doing them and didn't care
if there was a response or not, but thank you
for hiding under the sheet with your mouth
and letting you bother me into hungry wide

and did I mind how you wrote my name in ink
on the palm of your hand and then let it go
places I had only dreamed of going slowly
but you went there more quickly and on purpose
while watching my eyes become wrenching tools

to make the drinking fountain into an ocean

ms Nicole....thanks lady..combination tongue depressor and tire iron works most of the time.
