Words escape
through the holes in my head
and arrange themselves on paper,
after a bit of fussing
and shuffling about.
Sometimes I am surprised
by what I have written
and sometimes
it is just what I meant to say...
though I still don't know
exactly where it came from.

Subconscious works diligently to pave the way for unrecognizable thoughts. A way for the inner you to have its say.

Yep, I'm with you Ida!
This so true my eyes agree, my ears agree,
my hands and digits that type, albeit slowly,
agree...

Enjoyed!!

And it takes a poet, like you, to allow the words the freedom of catharsis.  Sometimes it is like looking at ourselves through stained glass.  I enjoyed this very much, Ida.

Very well expressed. As writers we all often ponder this question. The aspect of muse and the often disbelief in reading our own words, wondering where it came from, whose voice it is, etc...

You sifted through those questions and painted it nicely

Delightful, Ida.  I always enjoy your thoughts immensely, and the way you express them even more!

I'm right there with you on this one too, Ida... Not just too sure where the words come from sometimes... Or how they might be taken in some cases.  :/  enjoyed the read.

Well said, dear Ida! I too can relate.

Often it is our psychic sensitivity that captures "something in the air" and our mind develops it. Whatever it is, sometimes we feel its magic and wonder ... just as you say.

How well I understand! You've written the process (and the confusion! *S*) perfectly!

Thank you all for the lovely comments. It seems that the "poetry experience" is similar for most of us.
