the moon is high tonight
looks like a full moon
bright. too bright for that
night clouds scuttle in front of it
sorta waltzing with the old moon
like us kinda
we're dancing the two-step
of forbidden love
doesn’t feel forbidden
feels hot and right
the old moon delivering
moondrops into the wisteria-scented
dancing clouds
a sensual tango now
we give and take
painting the night sky
with red-hot enthusiasm
stars dim their lights
for privacy

I didn't get to see the moon last night, too many clouds in the way over here - but I didn't need to, not after reading this.     Very lovely, Jerry

Nicely done Mr. Jerry.

The moon is always lovely at this time of year,
full and mysterious, especially when the
clouds dance in kind.

Well done, JP.

Jerry, I thought I commented on this one.... but it doesn't appear.  I've lost a couple lately... seems to be a lag in my computer.

My mind is on an eclectric streak tonight.  This is seriously romantic and I especially got lost in this lavender image entwining my senses... tango or waltz.

"the old moon delivering
moondrops into the wisteria-scented
dancing clouds"

But my sense of humor kicked in, too, and I thought of the old song, "Love Potion Number 9". I'd take this over India ink anyday!

We're on the same wavelength, Klassy Lassy,  those lines are my favorite also, leaning more on the Love Potion Number 9." lol.

I'm glad you weren't disappointed, tracie66.

Wonderful, dear Jerry! I do know what you speak about, especially after seeing a spectacular almost full moon this early morning (5.15am and it was to be full at 8.30am). It was greatly inspiring and that's what your poem is too.

I must agree that the moon was inspiring, and there was no way I was about to let that moment go without jotting down some notes and voilà! the poem.
