when he was a boy he played a clarinet but then he grew up and the music faded just as memories fade of childhoods past then he turned off the radio and the music returned no frenzied beats or pulsating rhythms just simple songs played on a battered buffet which rekindled memories of a childhood past when he was a boy when he played a clarinet |

hmmmm. I have memories a little like the recant in your poem. I took piano lessons when I was eight. I can still play one of the pieces I learned so long ago, and the tempo checked by a stern teacher and a metronome. When I had to perform it for a recital, I forgot how it even began, totally froze! I like the reverse in your poem. It is what we do in retracing steps in memory. |

Ah, yes, I was the proud owner of a Fender double-neck steel guitar in my youth. Yes, the music faded. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

It's surprising how those forgotten times can be rekindled so easily. Nicely done, Tim.. |

One of my daughters plays the clarinet (I played the flute)... this year for Christmas, she received the music of Queen and Star Wars. /grinning I hope her memories live on, like the ones in your poem. Sometimes they seem forgotten...but they never really are. |
