      Once Upon a Winter

      For all of those on the north side of the mid line
      of the slightly-bulged-like-an-unkempt-belly line
      this is the short straw
      the late morning and the early night
      and for some the middle of the all night
      and the missing of the light

      This is the dreaded in the coming
      and the hopeful in the passing
      the lighting of the annual candles
      and the long night's slumber
      this is the celebration of the end
      but only because it is the beginning


      Y'all have a merry nice Winter Solstice
      and a Good Light to all!
