Searching For The Pieces ( Of Their Lives ) A Tribute To The Troops By Paul Wilson Baby Boomers some were called Born between hard times and the era of rock and roll Life was hard… money was tight family bonds were strong we did what was right Others born between the age of Aquarius and Generation X giving their all, fighting for freedom Some were called home before their tour of duty was over leaving loved ones much too soon Soldiers home from the war back to the real world Searching for the pieces ( Of Their Lives ) torn apart by time and memories that will never go away Price of freedom paid by many blood and tears disappear into sands of a foreign land Stand tall you’ve earned your place with those that fought decades ago protecting our freedom and way of life We honor and salute you on this day of your home coming together we will help you Search for the pieces ( of your lives ) Welcome home one and all America stands for freedom and will never fall ~~To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you~~ Paul |

This is a very touching and righteous poem dedicated to those leaving a country besot with inner turmoil, old ways which have never been replaced with equal understanding. All the lives lost and now time to go, wondering what will become of the fragile understanding of the word Freedom. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

JP2...Thanks for understanding and taking time to read & reply...Paul JL...Glad you liked this. Thanks...Paul Margherita...Thanks for the sweet reply. This is the first time in many months that I was able to write anything that didn't seem strained. Maybe I can write a few more while I'm in the groove...Paul ~~To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you~~ |

A wonderful tribute, Paul. I don't think we can ever really tip are hats adequately to those who serve, but I share your depth of feeling here. Merry Christmas, my friend. Michael |
