Time runs a parallel detour,
Sending me on my wayward way.
I sit, thinking of her allure,
This Sunday day is dark and gray.

I'm neither gay, nor am I blue,
A guitar's riff is all I hear.
A melancholy song breaks through,
Oh, I wish it would disappear.

I hear the peals of an old church,
Mingling with the riffs and the chords.
I'd end this place and her I'd search,
A swashbuckler me, with a sword.

This is my fantasy; but no,
This is not the way I should act.
I'll stay, and watch the bayou flow,
With myself I have made a pack.

Upon my skin her gentle touch,
Has given me pleasure untold.
In my thoughts, but it means so much,
That's the reason my thoughts are bold.

If God is looking down on me,
Let Him give me some kind of clue.
Is this how it will always be,
Will we never meet up, we two?

Time stands still this Holy hour,
My life is put on hold, I know.
I think of a pretty flower,
And then her face; and my heart glows.

Who said the romantic period of poetry ended?...This poem proves it still exists.
A touch of William Wordsworth in classic/modern form.

A bit of romance does the heart good on this
grey December day where I look out my window sipping my tea.
