found a way to
shed my skin
into a better blend
making who I was
who now I am
my thoughts play
Stevie Ray in my head
lotta base playing bad
stirs my new bones
to old harmony in
double-laid-back time
I stir within the new
skin I have adopted
I am
prince of the city
rawhide tough
gritty profile
seven o'clock silhouette
I am the lure to young girls
and their mammas too
offering them craving
for their unfulfilled days
nights we'll speak of later
my deep rumbling restraint
adds to the vagueness
where you thought you knew
what I had currently to award
she who would be worthy
of the prince of the city
she will reign as . . .
. . . drum roll, please . . .
my Princess

Great write Jerry!
Loved this line, had me smiling along with the heavy base.

Enjoyed the read.

Thank you, JL, for smiling at the words and the bass.

This is quite captivating, dear Jerry! Your new skin is appealing I would say.
