listening to Van Morrison
like the guy
your face is in my thoughts
a Harvest moon
a cornfield and us
moondancing

Dwelling in an awake dream:
Old October magic stirs
The mind of a poet.

In that mind
A woman still trembles
At his touch..

With desire she can't hide.

"and all the nights magic seems to whisper and hush"

"And all the soft moonlight seems to shine in your (her) blush."

The poet laments...

"Can I just have one more moondance with you, my love"

Enjoyable poems have high effect on me.
They make me think deeply on their subject.
This one is no exception, being profound in its simplicity.

Great write Jerry.
What a reply by Ice; you da man!  Simplistic as you say but so inventive and now classic.
Love dem blues...

something about harvest moons
that first chill in the air
against the first warm glow
of a burning fire
with a moon in the background
rekindles the sleeping lover in all of us

"a Harvest moon

  moondancing"

great Impressionistic imagery !

(however, that 'ol moon can be a rather dangerous thing!)

Thanks, secondhanddreampoet, and I quite understand the tragic influence the moon can have on us.

Appreciate you reading and commenting on this poem.
