An act of precision Takes time to complete Each small decision A challenge to meet The layers are building An architectural delight Like lilies are gilding A classic building this night A gastronomical tower An ever scrumptious repast The flavor bursts like a flower Later to explode into gas Yet even as tummies complain The feast is truly not done There’s no clever way to explain The turkey sandwich has won - Alison Alison's Turkey Sandwich Recipe (only for the brave of heart with stomachs of steel) 2 slices soggy white bread slather each slice with mayonnaise Between the slices of bread: thick slices of turkey breast cranberry jelly (straight from the can with rings still showing on the sides) gobs of oyster dressing from the bird (not the stuff that was left over in the casserole dish) Press it all together until it sticks and enjoy Eat! Yum! What do you put on yours? |

I ate Thanksgiving leftovers for two days so I'm ready for something else. I'm making shrimp scampi tomorrow. Ida |

We ate seafood gumbo and turkey thingies for 4 days...finally, Saturday, splurged - had grilled-ribeyes for a totally and wonderful change. Sunday, not sure we even ate (pies and cakes mostly - trying to get rid of them, you know), and yesterday -- New Orleans style hot roast beef poorboys. Today - well, don't even want to think about food yet...maybe red-beans and rice, with sausage and ham. j. Oatmeal ... lumpy or not, with sugar and half&half or evaporated milk. Buttered toast for dipping. j. |

Not having the opportunity to 'celebrate' any 'holidays' anymore ... that turkey sandwich sounds exceptionally fine to me ... 'T-day' and 'X-mas' and 'New Years' etc. are rather especially bleak days for me ... |

You're making me hungry! LOL I actually look forward to the sandwiches more than the turkey carving... but missed out on both this year cause I made King Ranch casserole... I stayed home and a turkey for one is NOT a good idea! LOL |
