The Thanksgiving Feast Some want turkey, some want ham, Another called this morning Asking if we could please have lamb. Traditional cranberries or the relish kind? If the latter I'd have to add nuts and orange rind. Back to the market. I fear at this point I may lose my mind. Pumpkin pie, apple, or boysenberry? If I exclude his favorite Uncle Larry Will holler, "Where's the cherry?" Sweet potatoes of course, but also string beans or peas? Mashed potatoes, maybe throw in some cheese? Phone rang again, “Scalloped potatoes please.” Must have Jello with marshmallows or the little ones will pout. I'm beginning to lose it, without a doubt. Great poem about the frustrations of preparing a Thanksgiving Feast . . . Going out sounds great. ~*~ He did not wear his scarlet coat, |

I'm feeling this one Marcia as I gather the makings of Thanksgiving dinner and attempt to please everyone. Have a good one. Ida |

"There's only one solution - we're eating out!" LOL!! And you should. It's time to reflect on your blessings and relax. Enjoyed the read. JL Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. Love your neighbor as yourself. |

Thank you all for your nice comments. And, we are eating out. A table for twelve and three high-chairs is reserved. I'm gonna sit back and enjoy every minute of not having to and every other minute I'll look around that table and count my blessings. |

You have me smiling here, dear Marcia! You render these moments of anticipation and related "busyness" perfectly well. There should be always a substantial collaboration in the kitchen to make it more fun. It's great to go out, but I bet there will be a few voices saying "your turkey etc. is much more delicious ...!" Happy Thanksgiving in total relax. Love and joy. Margherita |
