The Morning Light

A silent sunset begins its journey into the night.
Peeking little bolts of orange, and golden rays of light…

Sheltering peering eyes focused with enchantment,
as papaya trees sway, beneath Mauna Loa’s rouge light…

The sea sings its rhythmic melody, against white sands and rocky shore.
While dolphins play as spirited children, near the ocean’s floor…

Our thoughts touch and glimmer, at the lighting of a flickering torch.
Our shared feelings are warmed and chilled, across a grassy porch…

In the palms of my hand I rest your delicate features,
while pressing our lips together, to become that evening’s creature…

The scent of ginger and exotic tropical is whispering at the night air,
as a cool breeze swims in off the ocean echoing through your hair…

Gently we press into the night, into dreams of cotton candy.
Where dreams are real and life is not, where reality is a flute of brandy…

Until the day is new and waking is too, and the morning melody is true.
Cooing a breath of the morning light me and you.

In that morning light…

"Where dreams are real and life is not, where reality is a flute of brandy…"

A wonderful and compelling poem of love and love's rewards, JL. Loved it.

You just let me leave this cubicle behind and take a deep plumeria scented breath... This is softly sensuous and simply beautiful!!

This is so breezy and tropical, exotic, seductive and sensual.
Your poem premeates the air and stirs the senses, reaching across the miles.

Getting the chills doesn't get any better than this.

Absolutely gorgeous, JL~

What a magical setting for dreams of love that carry you so romantically into the morning light ...

Excellent.
