The sky is speckled here and there, With the wild shrieking of the crows Brutish birds almost come to blows, Fighting for dominance in the air. The birds are much like humankind, Fighting over the scraps of life, The losers live a life of strife, Making do with their daily grind. It never stops, the race goes on, Stealing from her, taking from him, Its fast or famine; life is grim, Just making do until we're gone. ©November 13, 2011 / Jerry Pat Bolton ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways ~*~ |

One was giving me "the eye" as I went to my car this afternoon... making me wonder if he's the one who left his calling card on my windshield. |

I think you’ve hit the proverbial nail on the head. Nice write Jerry. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. Love your neighbor as yourself. |

Hah! They will do that, suthern, give you the eye, and it wouldn't surprise me if he hadn't left that calling card for you. <><> Thank, JL. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways ~*~ |

And here, the starlings are cawing spiraling stairways to another world and back again for they know it is coming on to winter, and they hustle bustling about, whirling, and all the while they wonder as humans run north and south only maybe east and west but rarely, rarely singing along as the crow flies.... ~*~ OMG...thank you SO much for the inspiration! |

Hi Lori, thanks, I'm still the old grit and grim guy I always was, although I have to admit my writing, for the most part, has taken a softer trend lately. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways ~*~ |

Well expressed, Jerry! Fight for food is getting stressful for so many species (humans included sadly yes!) as the food chain seems to have lost its natural balance and harmony. The crows are quite beautiful, but I can't say that their voice sounds very inviting! Margherita |

We keep multiplying and taking over the land used for growing and eventually there will be an impasse like none before it with massive starvation its consequence. I agree, Margherita, the crow is no songbird. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways ~*~ |
