Prayer at Fort Sam Houston Cemetery

Among the fallen leaves
there live their dreams.
Not for wintry season
but for coming spring…

The icy chill shall pass by
and soon death swallowed up by everlasting:

Living shall blossom and sing again…

Hope is in tomorrow coming in the clouds
and if I dream a peaceful sleep among the leaves
I fear not for on His Day
I shall hear His voice
and angels call-out my name…

Rejoice in the winter if it comes to pass,
knowing spring is at hand.
For He is faithful to everlasting life
without shame without blame …

He is the way, the truth, and the life.
He made us for living, not for death and dying.
Belief, and faith is His truth, Love is His life.
Peace is His joy –
harps and angels shall soon be singing
soon on His wedding day.
At that feast we shall rejoice in living.

Salvation is our spring in Heaven
Winter is our life among the leaves.
Some shall sleep others shall never die.
Soon we shall hear resurrection sing:

“Oh death, where is your sting?”

And, as Lazarus was called
so shall we hear the herald sound:
“Come up here!”
And spring will begin a new life and living.

So, be filled with joy, my friends.
Hope in the gift He is building in His heaven…
Be complete in the grace He has given.

For now,
among the fallen leaves
there live their dreams.
Not for wintry season
but for coming spring…

And soon life forever
in peace and in love
among His angles
joyfully singing…

*      *                                                   *

Rest in peace, my friends
amen...

Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. Love your neighbor as yourself.
Maranatha!

I'm not big on prayers, but there are times and places where nothing else will do, this is one of those times and places. Nicely done, with a bit of clout for the ones who have gone on before us.

This was beautiful, my friend. Not only the uniqueness of the phrasing, but it wasn't rote, dry, same-o, same-o verse.

This was a pleasure to read and feel.
