[a shining star that's what you are]
you alone are who you are
I stare in the mirror
know and understand the man I see
we are young into each other
trying to identify
grasping outstretched hands
to the other
I am old
you're just beginning to lean toward it
you are there
I am here
two people with miles and miles between us
still, we share a bond
we give the other a measure to our demons
a little at a time
giving of that part of ourselves
because it's the right thing to do
our bond is about having confidence in the other
else, why bother
we have good rapport
no storm clouds on the horizons
even so
and if there were
thunder and lightning and monsoon rains
we would strip down and splash in the mud puddles
mere storms
cannot weaken our connection
it can only strengthen it
[a shining star that's what you are]

Thank you suthern, but it all may be over soon. My tender pondering is becoming difficult. Thank you so much.
