Fading Fall
by Linda L. Dowd

As asters fade in autumn’s frost,
gold leaves come tumbling down.
Winter soon will be upon us,
cloaking all in snow-white gown.

Flakes alight on sleeping soil,
dusting sod with dreams anew.
The hush of winter’s new arrival,
softly bids the fall adieu.

Beautifully stated, Earth Angel. Let us hope old man winter's harsh breath does indeed come to us softly.

Lovely write, Linda.

Fall is upon us too, Linda in the form of cold rain but in this case the sun will probably be shining again in a day or two.
Of course in your neck of the woods I know that Winter means business. This is a lovely poem to usher it in. Stay warm.

JerryPat, yes, indeed! But as we all know, especially we who live in northern climates, the wind can blow your mind ~ and your house down! Fortunately, ours is made of bricks and not straw! lol

JL ~

I enjoy all four seasons, all of which are significantly different in our neck of the woods. I'm a regular little snow bunny in the winter! Wheeee! Slipping and sliding; skating and gliding...

Michael ~

Yes, winter is on its way! It has so many moods! One moment it can wrap you softly in a blanket of snow and then it can abruptly turn around and freeze your 'wings' off!

My dear Ida Belle, cold rains can chill you to the bone even more than the fresh snows of winter.
Sending a loving hug to warm you up.
