The Seed

People that crave all the thrills in this life,
will do anything for the money;
like a bear sure enough, with hunger and wants,
will die for a jar, full of honey.

Said the men of old, the men that had wisdom,
that lived so long ago;
this life is not over, it's not even started,
it's but a seed we sow.

If the seed has a portion of all that is lovely,
the righteous who plant it, will weep.
For bad is the taste, of the fruit of this life,
if the seed, we don't plant it, we eat.

Remember the bear and try if you will,
to open your eyes, just a moment;
this life is the jar, or the seed that we plant,
the honey we crave, but don't own it.

Thanks Jl,
..My pencil sometimes draws a blank,
a block of purest dread.
But then I see and then I smile,
there's nothing to be said.
