How long has it been,
Seven years since we met?
You’re back, same old grin,
Last time you left me in debt.

Hi, baby, what’s up with you?
How long has it been, my friend?
Seems just yesterday, I’m so blue,
Life treats me bad, I need to mend.

No, you can’t take anymore,
My heart is plucked clean.
Go away, leave my door,
Depart, soul-sucking queen.

Oh, honey, you know what I covet,
Lots of sweaty sex is what I need.
I need it so bad, I freely will admit,
As before, you wild, untamed steed.

My weary old heart is like a stark,
Blackened tree stripped of all love.
You stole my heart and its spark,
Left memories I can’t get rid of.

I’m older now, it doesn’t take much,
I need only what only you can allot.
You’ve always been there in the clutch,
I can do things for you, have you forgot?

Lord, please make her understand,
I have only one strand of love left.
If she takes that, the way she plans,
My final days I'll be laid low and bereft.

Somewhere, sometime, one just has to learn to say NO ... my friend.

Good read...

Nicely done, JP.  Love the conversational effect... and the dire plea at the end.  Truly, we can be powerless to things we know will only hurt us...  what can I say, been there!

Yep, Michael, the game of love spawns some truly stupid people, both male and . . . er . . . that other sex.

As one of that other sex who's been plenty stupid, I hope you're able to resist the siren call to guaranteed misery!

No problem, suthern, resist is the only defense. Thank you for your input.

Not at all, maybe just a little cracked in the head, you know,
like the one I've got.
