Fair to middlin' of nowhere

If hindsight is 20/20
why then when
looking back
do I still wonder
Whatever possessed me
to do that?
What was I thinking?
Where was my head at?
I know what’s done is done
It’s water under the bridge
Best to forgive and forget
and just move on
from what made sense
at the time
after that time’s gone

I could have written this. Not as well as you, but still . . .

Had your introspective work in mind as I wrote this...wondered if as you  come to accept things about your past you quit kicking yourself in the butt.

Actually I have, Lori. For years I had people keep telling me to "Forgive yourself." Couldn't do it, especially when it came to Nanette. Last October I had a . . . something . . . and found peace. I have forgiven myself for things, but that doesn't mean there still isn't pain, I have just learned to accept it. Thank you for thinking of me as you wrote this poem. I'm touched.
