The running diatribe does this: It sparks. Then people blow on it. They add their straw. They fan the flame. They warm their hands to point the blame. Robbing branches from new trees, they burn their points with twigs of green. Robbing branches from new trees, They stood in voice. They branded me. They warm their hands to point the blame. Tbey add their straw. They fan the flame. Then all the people blow on it: It sparks. The diatribe does this. |

It sparks. Then people blow on it. They add their straw. They fan the flame. They warm their hands to point the blame. These lines would be powerful and memorable even if they weren't reversed/repeated! Some rituals are painful ones... I hope you're okay! |

Coming and going... a viscious circle. I like the form on this... as well the revelation of what can be incited in people by mere words. Well done. Michael |

Oh, wow, thanks all. I am trying to learn to just let my poems stand on their own, but this form (if you can call it that) is rather cryptic, huh? It's not just political talking heads, it's about all the yabbering. Although I confess I'm sooooooo glad that the pollsters finally quit calling my house now that the elections are over. I was getting dizzy. ![]() Thanks for so much for reading. I'm off to force feed myself some Shakespeare. ![]() My love and gratitude to all. |

Karen, This is among my favorite PiP poems. I love the structure - and I liked what you said and how you said it. So ... I snarfed it up and put it among my most liked poems. A |

I hope you realize that for all of the forms that are? Some are still waiting to be born. Mayhap under the name serenity. ![]() |

I LOVED this one. It's simple yet complicated at the same time, a very hard mix to incorporate into writing and yet it's produced right in front of us. I ~thoroughly~ enjoyed this piece, Serenity! |
