For many years I took care of my senior patients Days were filled with Stories of times before From WWII to the Flu of 1918 Stories were told as if it were today Many senior children believe it is. My special children… We are told to never get attached There is only one fate… After spending many days Seeing the sunrise and the sunset together Or even Sharing our hopes and dreams How is one to not? My dear sweet friends Hiram, Polly, Helen, Myrtle, Violet… There is only one fate… Thank you for the wonderful memories… I have learned so much from you… "Happiness is a state of your own mind!" |

"We are told to never get attached There is only one fate…" I, too, believe this is just nonsense. I would give much to be able to bask for a while in the memories of the greatest generation ever as they recount the reality that created my own today. ·´~`·»Garapan«·´~`· "Look! Crumbs on his jacketses... Heeee took it!" |

I enjoy reading about your adventures with your senior friends...your stories always make me smile. To see it in writing though is a true delight... Love ya girl! Amy "we have but a moment...only one moment" |

It takes a special kind of person to befriend these people of age. ~ Good health is merely the slowest possible rate at which one can die. ~ |

I love what you're saying here and how you said it...reminds me of listening to my grandfather talk about WWI and General John "Blackjack" Pershing and how his eyes lit up with pride when he mentioned his name...thank you for sharing this jewel of a write |

Thank you for reading! I worked with the elderly for 16 years. I loved my time with my friends. We truly can learn a lot from them! They say that history repeats itself...who not to listen to than the older generations "Happiness is a state of your own mind!" |
