She cried like the slow dance that never ends There it was beneath the carnage she spread her legs open as if to say she was broken Her whimpers turned to shrieks for her tears became obsolete She cried for her mother to hear for her father to steer clear but it was her brother that came when her tears finally cleared Her brother the curls of the river eyes of her soul With her on the bottomless floor until she stood on her two feet his arm wrapped around his sisters side |
