We sit in silence
To afraid to say what’s really going on…
I listen to the radio…I think
How dare they sing

Don’t they know?
Can’t they see…
He is here with me

The man driving this vessel

We get almost home
Mom looks away,
The car pulls over
He says get out
You’re not fit
Walk

As I walk I wonder
Is this my fate?

Tonight as I get ready for bed
I know it will happen…
I will awake with a start

Every night I jump…
As I feel a tug on my blanket
At the ripe old age of 8
I will see what is meant to be

if this write is what I think it is about, this is an amazing piece of poetry (even if it were not, I would still have liked it)...great writing
