My mind is scattered on the winds of change My heart holding words hostage waiting on rhyme’s ransom for their release from their incessant swirling just out of reach Lay me down in a field of dreams and I will watch the cloud’s ever-changing shapes and shadows go by their images on parade in my mind’s eye I long for you like pen and paper to tap my flow Take my chaos upon your calm Use your prowess as my balm LGR©10/18/11 |

Great thing to do, lay on your back and watch the clouds drift by, Lori. Take pen and paper. Ideas will come and form into lines of your poem. Been there. Done that. Yep. ~* The saddest words of tongue or pen are the words It might have been.--John Greenleaf Whittier ~*~ |

The entire poem was engaging and tweaked my heartstrings, however, these words will most assuredly remain in the coffers of my mind ~ "I long for you like pen and paper"... Linda |

This one is deep and rich, Lori. Lovely imagery... "incessant swirling" A thoroughly enjoyable read. Michael |
