*
my heart wings unfurl to soar
right into the glorious break of dawn

almost imperceptibly moving the air
yet subtle vibrations make you alert

for just a fleeting thought in dreams
you evoke the sound of our soul song

a meteor blazing through the night sky
a split second not to be prolonged

yet carved in luminous letters
upon the canvas of our heart-memories

a gasp of awe released to the ether
with closed eyes open to love eternal

Lovely thoughts and much talent to put them together in a poem of such grace.

"a meteor blazing through the night sky
a split second not to be prolonged"

Here is the pivotal point in the poem..this point
expands the physical  structure of the shooting star
particles, into the invisible vapor of human emotion
in order to give outline to the carving of readable memories
on the stone (heart) of the soul...

"carved in luminous letters
upon the canvas of our heart-memories

and then:

"a gasp of awe released to the ether
with closed eyes open to love eternal

It is that "ether"  that opens, instead of closes the eyes of "love eternal"
Allowing growth of that emotion to grow by extrpolation.

That is how I felt when I read this poem..the feeling was very good...:-)

It doesn't last long, but oh what an image it invokes.  That pretty much sums up life, doesn't it?  Lets make that split second count.

Beautifully done.

Celebrating life in all of its hues, yes, dear Lori, therein lies the secret of serenity. Thank you for your loving comment.

That you found grace in this, dear Jerry, pleases me much. Thank you!

Dear Ford, thank you for your extraordinary comment. I love how you interpreted my words and reported your feelings to me. Precious attention really!

Dear Ruth, it brings equal joy to me to know that you liked what you read here. Thank you so much.

Thank you, dear JL, for the "ah ..." which is always a sign of connection to what we perceive in a write.

Dear Michael, thank you so much for your loving comment. Yes, let's make that split second count! It affects us more than we imagine ...

My cosmic sister, Linda Angelo Terrestre, do you realize what a special joy it is to have you here among us and leaving such a heartwarming comment here?! Thank you from the bottom of my heart, you do me good!

Dear DS, thank you so much for your presence on this thread. On the sky we write our greatest dreams and visions, yes!

Margherita, as you very well know, not just "seize the day" but "seize the moment" is one of the special keys to exhilaration and joy in love - not only of a partner, but also of every aspect of life!  Very beautifully Margherita-expressed here and a joy to read (as always)!

Always a delight- You never ever fail to mesh both picture and words together. They always twine in such an elegant melody of words and image.
