The Known

I first knew you as NochtDraco,
The Dragon of the Night,
In all majestic splendor
Eclipsing the stars in flight.
My lovely lunar spectacle
Held not a candle to thee,
In admiration, I could only watch,
And wish that I knew truly.

Ah, then you came as Skyfyre,
Alas, my phoenix rising.
With elegance and grace still looking back,
I can’t help find surprising.
Determination – passion’s firm –
A domineering presence…
Indeed I was still looking up,
Yet basking in your essence.

Then, as Kess, I saw your human side –
Looked on in wonder, amazed.
Intelligence and wit and heart;
An aura that simply blazed.
A voice so strong it somehow revealed
The hopes you hid deep inside…
And I swore there to make life fair,
I’d somehow make you my bride.

…To treat you as the queen you are –
To prove it’s ok to trust.
…To shower you with compliments –
Prove love to be true and just.
Alas, I failed, damned soul I am –
Still pledged to this endeavor,
I last knew you as Linda Gayle,
Whom I shall love forever.

The only one who knows my soul
Completely, and inside out,
But never again will look at me
Without having to doubt.
Whom I brought to suffer as I,
Though you but tried to raise me.
…That you ever loved me at all,
The only hope, from death, that stays me.

Jwesley, Glad you enjoyed.

Lori & JP, Thank you.

Ruth, I appreciate that…  just had to let one flow without thought of meter, rhyme and the like.  It’s amazing how those end up being the most powerful of all sometimes.

Ms. E,

Margherita, Thank you very much.

K, Indeed it is.

JL,  Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed.
