The sun rises everyday to tell a story to the flowers
That is so lovely
and so pure,
that they unfurl their petals
in gratitude

The wind dances and sings a song for the trees
That is so sweet
and so kind,
that they bow and sway in total appreciation

The rain comes and gladly gives an offering to the earth
That is is so generous
and so thoughtful,
that earth offers a harvest in thanksgiving

In a world needing love and compassion
In a world needing kindness
We need only look,
To see it done at every turn

Oh, that I would have the grace to be
like the sun to the flowers
like the wind with the trees
like the rain for the earth

To give to you
whatever it is
that I have,
that you could possibly need

Freely and openly
and without a moments hesitation
or regret

A ribbon at a time..." - Emily Dickinson

Lovely concept, with a joker stuck in there that makes everything not work so well. Humanity. Unlike the elements, even the animals and insects, human go beyond their capabilities in many ways. They are brave, loving, generous, and at the same time they are cowards, haters and hoarders. Unlike the elements and the animal and insect we have a mechanism which gives us the ability to "think." Thinking is sometimes used irrationally.

I hope you understand what I am trying to say, MorningStar. I, too, wish that it was as simple to be what you would like to be.

I don't know whether the "you" in your poem is to all of humanity or to one particular person.  If it is the latter, I can understand that there could be some difficulty in that person, for you to be able to be all those things.  However, if it is all of us, you most certainly ARE all those things!  Again, an absolutely delightful, powerful, sensitive, beautiful and uplifting rendering of your art that speaks screeds about your beautiful and strong character.

I read Mantra (as I requested of you) to the girls at the children's home and they loved it (as well I knew they would)!

I wish that you had an email address or if you do, that you put it on Pip - nobody can see what it is unless you reply to an email sent to you - and if you want to reply without the recipient knowing your email address you can always do it through Pip and the recipient will get your reply without your email address being visible to him/her.  I would love to give you more detail about the children's home.

Either way, may I read any of the rest of your poems to the children at the home?  Normally I request the poet about each individual poem, but there are so many of yours I would like to read to them.

How beautifully expressed is your wish to love unconditionally.

Much enjoyed!

Like Jerry said, beautiful concept - long as it's tempered with awareness. Or the wolves of the world will eat you alive.

Cool write, my friend.
