She was long-legged, top heavy and nuts,
And you ought to have seen her do her strut.
Dallas, Texas, still wild and wooly west,
And at times they wore Bat Masterson vests.

A million Texas stars lit up her smile,
Her name was Virginia and she was wild.
Her eyes locked on mine across the dance floor,
Danced all night, got to her house around four.

We were together for six months of joy,
She lived life to the fullest; wasn't coy
We used each other up, spent what we had,
As wild as she was I was just as bad.

She was restless, and I'd hit a dead end,
We parted company, were still good friends.
It was many years ago that we met,
I think of her; still break out in a sweat.

A memory so fresh and vivid bears witness to the intensity of the interlude.

Very nice!

I think we were writing our comments to each other at the same time.

Yes, Margherita, the memory is fresh and the intensity of the romance was, as they say, but I seldom do, awesome

Well walking on the wild side, sowing wild oats has left you with many wild times to remember.  Glad you are remembering the good and celebrating that for a change. It's good for your soul my friend.

Yeah, I got the hint that certain people don't like negative, woe-is-me, lost in the wilderness poetry. This one's for you, Lori, I truly put it up there for you.

I'm honored, thank you. Don't forget I learn a lot from your walks down dealing with the dark times lane. Coming to terms with regrets is something you share very well

Shaking my head here... another of your memories hitting home with me.  Mine was named Heather though.

Virginia from Dallas... man, after awhile I'd be so confused trying to figure out which state I was in I'd hit a dead end too... or a wall.

Enjoyed the read.
