So, the story turns a different direction
after a whirlwind of activity
some things stay the same
and some things move on

A decision to go to China
thwarted by 5 days of Prager separation anxiety
tears, tears, tears, and a chance to become legal,
a visa at last, ruined by a thief at the train station

High and Low
as the swing and song go
"I'm, just a Regular Joe"
I just go with the flow

Tak, as they say... So,
then a decision, t'wether to stay or go
back to America, a mother ill
and hospitalized

Search for work, yielded some
and much, helped by a decision to return to Church
then the search, for place to live
only hours away from a homeless skive

Answered an ad for a flat
She called me
its in the same building???
PERFECT, How about that!

A bit of a change in life direction
a decision to return to faith
joined a church, singing group of worship
dinner for eight, yields a pill popping Irish woman

a line and statement that doesn't fit

and 3 other women's interests.

Interested, Interested, Interesting
but alas, not me, uninterested
in them

a new personal ad on the internet
15 replies in one day
Interested, Interested Interested
but me in them? not really, none of them

and so the days go
with a diversified
English teacher's and writer's
portfolio.

and as for the women...

Eh, they come and go

a repeating cycle appears
my heart pounds for a few
the beautiful, the new
a new flatmate with Latvian sweetened perfume

and then there are the rest,
the young, the American, the spoken for,
the taken, all in all which I'm interested in
always a challenge, and I, the dauntless hopeful romantic

for me, hope and life, is at it's best.

You sure packed a lot into this . . . er . . . travelogue-poem, martiniat8. Search, always search. Sometimes what we search for is close at hand, right under our noses, so to speak. Hopefully you will find what you are searching for.
