Dried leaves past their prime
Cling desperately
To bared birch branches
As frost tats patterns
With intricate brush strokes
On a canvas once glorious gold

Alison, your painting (as always) is so exquisite.  It is paradoxically impressionistic and photographic!  I gazed at this picture in delight, hardly realising that it was painted with words.

Oh Alison, you really don't ever need to post your pictures with your poems because you write so vividly and enrapture me with ever word.

(Not to say I don't enjoy the pictures of your Alaska, because I do, very much)

You paint your words beautifully, Alison.  I feel like one of those clinging leaves right now with the cold creeping in.  Well done.

Ruth,

Thank you for reaching out and bringing me back.  I'll be out of town for a few weeks, but should be able to peek in and read.  It's good to have you back too.

Hugs to you,

Hey Lori.  Yep, we are way ahead on the fall thing - past through that and have had some warm days.  Now the poor pussywillows are out again.  They are so confused.
