Why when we all want the same To live free free from the fear of violence No matter if that violence comes from war or a lost generation fighting in the streets or even from the person lying in bed next to us We all want to love and be loved To feed and clothe ourselves and the ones we love To provide medicine when they are ill We want to learn and work to feel a sense of achievement self-worth and community Why When so simple our need So common our goal That we cannot succeed? Why When so easily it could have been me instead of you filling your skin or find it’s my shoes you are walking in we can’t live peacefully? |

Greed. You don't have to be a rich person or a Wall Street Banker to be greedy, Lori. Greed can also rear its ugly head when someone wants what someone else has, but doesn't want to work for it. Street violence is political intimidation. To take down the status quo. Good poem, Lori. ~~ Those who are silent are the first to be shot. ~~ |

"Why When so simple our need So common our goal That we cannot succeed?" Excellent Lori, and a very good question. JL Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. Love your neighbor as yourself. Maranatha! |
