Holding my breath
I arch my back and dive deep
with a cool splash
tending to my underwater garden
with buoyancy and vibrancy
swaying in slow motion
the warmth of sun
penetrates the sheerness
leaving a shimmer that sheens.

I've no words to describe
what can't be heard.
no needs to be met
when I feel I'm drowning
I have no desire to be saved
from the peace in my mind
that stirs;
in the deepest part of my sea
and all that I hold sacred to me.
Where I've found my tranquility
my heaven on earth
swimming all around me
through me
with me
the silver strands of time
coveting me.

I've learned to change with the tides
and the constant currents that pull
forecasting undertows
that no longer frighten me.
For it is here on my sea
where I live and let go,
and come up for air ....

Where I breathe~

This "underwater garden" of yours, Blues, is one that I, and probably many who read this, envy. To be able to maintain, with a certainty, that you care not to be "saved," tells me that your most ardent needs are met as you repast in your garden.

"I've learned to change with the tides
and the constant currents that pull
forecasting undertows
that no longer frighten me.
For it is here on my sea
where I live and let go,
and come up for air ...."

The above says it all. I am grateful to know that you are as one with yourself.

Thank you so much for your great reply JP.  I have my moments that's for sure, but I have made my peace....oh it was hard fought, but honestly I couldn't ask for more and I'm happy I finally arrived. Ha!!  My life isn't flashy but it sure is grand....and there isn't any other place I'd rather be.

Thank you always for reading me and for your wise and wonderful thoughts.

I like the metaphor..life as an ocean, and not resisting..gorgeous.

Oh Lori, I can’t tell you how happy I am for you, no matter what it is, that is making your life so peaceful and content at this point in your life. I couldn’t ask to hear anything better. It’s not easy finding such contentment, and I hope you hold on to it with all that you can. This garden of yours really does sound like heaven maybe someday I can find a place too that at least comes close to that.

Don’t worry too much about finding those words. They can be felt within, every time that breeze down by the sea exhales and dances with the trees, as the skies inhale and look down and smile….

A beauty, Blues...  Makes one want to dive in with you.
Much enjoyed.

Extremely captivating write, dear Lori.

Now, come on, you can't fool a bunch of poets!

Drowning in peace of mind?  How satisfying!

Ida, suthern gal, and Ms e~
Thank you sincerely for stopping by to read me.
I guess I've always been a seaside woman at heart.

Uh Kraw~ Just so you know, I didn't miss your sarcasm.  Part of our poetic licenses as poets is our words and how we choose to express ourselves, i.e, love, happiness, sorrow, and all the beauty surrounding us.  In the worst of times, (even when I feel like I'm drowning, I am at peace because I know it's not going to kill me and yes, I find much satisfaction in that)  Perhaps taking everything in the literal sense works for you, but not for me. You might try thinking out of the box next time. whatever!!
