Palm Sunday
Jesus' hands folded
in solemn communion
with the plastic flowers
on my dashboard

tumbled by the tides
rushing in and out
finally cracked open:
how soft we really are
beyond our lobster shells

this bracelet you admire
will never be worn again
today I remove it
from my wrist
and you from my heart

Even an apparently strange place like a dashbord and plastic flowers can bring along a thought of "solemn communion".  Very nice!

Profound, beautiful metaphor in the second!

You are determined in the third.

All three are most enjoyable. Thank you, dear Al.

Love,
Margherita

Margherita: Thank you so much for your generous response. Much appreciated.

If you get a chance: I just posted a haiku titled "returning soldiers" that includes a heartwarming and heartwrenching youtube vid that I would love for you to view--but bring some tissues! I'd lend you mine--but I'm all out--from viewing the video several times.

Thanks,

Al
