Fair to middlin' of nowhere

Idly twiddling my toe in the dirt
thinkin’ ‘bout bidding bare feet adieu
Trading in my flip flops
for everyday  socks and shoe
Before I know it
the snow it
will fly
and my boots and I
will dimple the driveway
some coming cold day
of freezing nose
and toes
But as for me and my feet
bare feels oh so sweet
in the shortening day
when warm decided to stay

LOVE it, Lori - I know JUST what you mean and I love being barefoot or wearing slops (flip flops) which I do all summer, except if I am going to see a client - but sometimes, even then.  Even in our mild South African winters especially in Durban (they don't feel that mild to me, though!), I wear boots most days, though many winter days are mild enough to wear slops.

Yes, I say go barefoot in the park before the cold weather predominates--let your feet run free!

Good one Lori,

Thanks for sharing,

Al

Cute, and a hating-to-see-winter coming it sounds like. One thing about it, you can't stop it, you can only run from it. I've heard that Hawaii is really nice and warm.

Actually today as was at the hospital and felt rather embarrassed to have to show them my feet, all dimpled and blotchy because of the poor circulation, but I knew them so it was okay.  Jes gotta take care of myself, and them, so an infection doesn’t start, and all that, as I am mildely diabetic.
Well Okay now I really DO haved to get off this computer and eat something!
Thank you for thinking of me Lori!
Hugs!

Oh, I agree, nothing like walking barefoot ... especially on the sand or on the grass ... I hate socks and stockings, in mild winters I never wear them ...

Very nice, dear Lori!

Love,
Margherita

Enjoy those last days of summer! I hate to think of winter coming but hopefully it will not be as bad as last winter.

Wriggle those cutie toes in the sand and dirt as long as you can. Cure poem. Made me smile. Haven't been doing much of that lately.

Delightful.

I'm with Jer, on this one. You're a breath of fresh air on a long painful day. Thank you.
