schoolyard fence-- when did I end up on this side? April showers should I sing or run for shelter? [This message has been edited by flash (09-13-2011 06:33 PM).] |

mmmmmm ... surprising view here. Must be fun for the dead to see the hidden side of the moon. I remember astronaut Armstrong saying there were "strange" things there (Alien Base) ... NASA never unveiled the secret to the public. Only the dead may know! Now I am ready for a nightmare ... Very intriguing! Love, Margherita |

Nice write. These days being out of school can be a good thing. Singing in the rain? Maybe, if you have an umbrella and tap shoes. Enjoyed. JL Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. Love your neighbor as yourself. |

Lori, Margherita: Thanks for the read and generous comments. Margherita: LOL Aliens are here among us! You are probably the only one (except for the living dead) to see my haiku before it vanished into cyberspace! Alien abduction! Still glowing when the lights go out? Body snatchers! Not really, I decided to delete-- (subject matter a bit macabre) and go with a couple of more wistful heartwarming ones. "schoolyard fence": this always makes me wistful-eyed when I re-read. I live near a schoolyard and sometimes I stop by the tall erected fence that separates me from the schoolyard and watch as children play during the time they are outdoors. One day--as I watched them running and yelling and screaming-- a palpable sadness descended...it seemed like yesterday I was on the other side with them--running up and down without locks or paychecks or blood pressure pills..I clutched my fingers between the steel railings and for a brief moment felt like ripping that fence down! April showers: it started to rain and all these adults were running for shelter--but in the distance I saw children singing and staying in the rain--and I asked myself: should I sing or run for shelter. I sang with the children in the rain!!! flash |

Ok, ok! I understand! The Aliens have their secret ways to intervene ... I would have stayed to sing in the rain too. I still love to walk in the rain without umbrella ... M |
