I left her wanting what the world felt at the end of it's lifetime Like i was talking to her in sleep Where the bed of her sad eyes Like i was falling so deeply She said i love the man next to me But you know I wrote my heart on yours For the sand said the signs were ours The tattoo was bent to a parcel of your lower back Where I saw a map of my life on yours The bottom of your skin I felt like the son of the Sudan The child whose river waved with His feet like the rafts that passed I watched her on this nile The passage to my right wrinkle On my cheek , the slow child That left her skin I called my son. |
